About the opportunity:
• Primary responsibility of the new hire needs to help in providing best practices if the design is correct or not, review the SQL queries, good exp in SQL, designing the databases.
• Anything with respect to data will come to this person, expecting that this person would give best method with respect to creating the database, monitor the SQL, executing across the Cloud through logs, monitoring etc., also find the flaws and ensure this does not happen.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Database Design and Architecture: Designing and implementing database a architectures to meet application needs, including schema design, data modeling, and ensuring scalability. Present to Core Architecture team and obtain approval before setups the same. Once the approval is in hand move for next steps
• Database Build & Deploy: Setting up and configuring databases on GCP, such as Cloud SQL, Big Query, or Postgres SQL and Buckets etc
• Performance Tuning: Monitoring and optimizing database/ SQL performance, including query optimization, index management, and resource allocation.
• Backup and Recovery: Implementing and managing backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability as per approved Backup & recovery and DR procedures.
• IAM & Security Management: Configuring and maintaining security settings, mainly access control, in compliance with HSBC standards.
• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitoring database health, diagnosing issues, and resolving performance bottlenecks or outages.
• Data Migration: Managing data migration processes between different databases.
• Automation and Scripting: Creating scripts for automating routine database tasks and managing configurations. using Jenkins pipelines.
• Collaboration and Support: Working with development and Testing’s teams to ensure database needs are met and providing support for database-related issues as per organizations policies.
• Documentation and Reporting : Documenting database configurations, procedures, and performance metrics, and reporting on database health and usage.
• Key Skills expected and Experience: DBA Certified, GCP Certified, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub, Python.

Performance expectations and Measurement:
• Need candidate with hands on working exp, they need to be able to guide the team with the best practices and review everything they have.
• Bring good exp in optimizing.
